Fleur Smith - Assistant Solicitor

Fleur has a degree in Law with Criminology from the University of Brighton and completed the Legal Practice Course at the University of Law. Fleur joined Garner & Hancock in the family department as a paralegal in May 2019. Fleur started training as a solicitor in November 2019 and qualified as a solicitor in November 2021 and has been working in family law ever since. During her training, Fleur spent time working in litigation, probate, and employment law but mostly focused on family law. Fleur has quickly gained a broad experience in this area, successfully advising on divorce, financial proceedings within divorce, children matters, and pre-nuptial agreements.

Mathew Goddard - Trainee Solicitor

Matthew graduated from university with a degree in Sociology before pursuing a career in law. After his undergraduate degree, Matthew joined Garner & Hancock Solicitors and completed a law conversion followed by the Legal Practice Course. Matthew is now a trainee solicitor at Garner & Hancock. In his spare time, Matthew enjoys playing and listening to music, going to art exhibitions, and playing rugby for local club Richmond.

Megan Jones - Trainee Solicitor

Megan has a degree in Law from the University of Southampton and has completed the Legal Practice Course with a Master’s in Law at the University of Law in Guildford. Megan began her training contract with us in November 2021 and works in our Family Law and Dispute Resolution department. Megan also has experience working in our Private Client department.

Massimo Cairo – Paralegal

Massimo is a native Italian and has a diploma in Economy and Business from Italy. He has a 2:1 degree in Law from Royal Holloway, University of London. Massimo has been working in the Life Planning department since November 2020, dealing with Wills, Tax, Trusts, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Probate. He assists Nigel George, who is a Partner and head of the Life Planning department.

As a native Italian, he can be used as a translator in matters which involve Italian and English speakers

Sophie Winter - Paralegal

Sophie graduated from Canterbury Christ Church University in 2018 with a degree in Law. In 2020, she graduated from Queen Mary University of London with a master’s degree in Environmental Law and in 2021 completed the Legal Practice Course at the University of Law in Guildford. Sophie is currently a paralegal in the private client department.

Outside of the office, Sophie is a keen beekeeper. She has been keeping bees since 2019. She has earned a certificate in basic beekeeping from the BBKA and hopes to work towards further qualifications.
