Celebrating International Women’s Day at Garner & Hancock

International Women’s Day is just around the corner, and we’re excited to celebrate the amazing women who make Garner & Hancock such a fantastic place to work. We have so many talented and dedicated women on our team, and we want to give a special shoutout to all of you!

Kiran Walia

One of our stars is Kiran Walia, our amazing Director and Head of Property. Kiran is a specialist property Solicitor with over 22 years of experience in dealing with all aspects of residential and commercial property work.

Kiran is known for her professionalism, vast knowledge, and the genuine care she shows to everyone around her. She’s a true gem, and we’re so lucky to have her on our team, leading the way.

She has worked mainly in London-based firms, gaining extensive experience with a diverse clientele such as private individuals, corporate landlords, developers, and foreign investors. Kiran’s background includes advising on intricate, high-value transactions, and her long-term clients repeatedly seek her services. Her dedication and commitment to exceptional service make her a trusted and valued member of the Garner & Hancock team.

One of the distinctive qualities that sets Kiran apart is her approachability and grounded demeanor. Her clients consistently praise her for her ability to explain legal jargon in plain language, making the legal process understandable and accessible. This approachability helps foster trust and comfort, ensuring that clients feel heard and valued throughout their property-related journey.

5-star reviews

We receive 5-star reviews about Kiran and her team nearly every day, praising their hard work and amazing attitude towards our clients.

” Simply excellent. I couldn’t recommend Garner & Hancock more and in particular Kiran Walia. Buying a house is stressful enough, but when there are parties involved who seek to complicate and elongate matters it’s highly advantageous having a solicitor in your corner that can handle any and all such nuances with ease whilst keeping you calm. My work with Kiran extends to almost 10 years now. She’s exceptional at what she does. Thanks again Kiran for all your help.”

In her spare time, Kiran prioritises spending quality moments with her family and friends. An avid reader, she enjoys delving into a wide variety of books. Cooking is another passion of hers, and she relishes experimenting with diverse cuisines.

Dinner party guest

If Kiran could invite one person to her dinner party, it would be Sir David Attenborough and this is why:

For a start, imagine having that legendary voice narrating the evening—”And here, in their natural habitat, the guests gather, engaging in the ancient ritual of passing the breadbasket…” It would be worth it for that alone.

But more than that, Sir David is one of the most inspiring and genuinely brilliant people around. He has seen more of the world than most of us could ever dream of, from the deepest oceans to the most remote rainforests, and he tells stories in a way that makes you see the world differently. I can only imagine the dinner table conversation—tales of close encounters with wild animals, breathtaking landscapes, and maybe even a few behind-the-scenes mishaps from his years of filming.

And the best part? He’s effortlessly charming, endlessly curious, and completely unpretentious. No politics, no ego—just pure fascination with the world and a lifetime of experiences to share. Plus, after all those years of filming in the wild, I like to think he’d appreciate a good meal in a warm dining room.

So yes, Sir David would be my ultimate dinner guest. And if he decided to narrate the dessert course? Even better.

Thank you to all the incredible women at Garner & Hacock. Your hard work, dedication, and passion are what make our company great. Thank you for everything you do!
